EEBUS interoperability (Plugfest 2026)

Which control boxes, gateways and devices OptiBee Energy Pro was tested with at the EEBUS Plugfest 2026.

OptiBee Energy Pro took part in the EEBUS Plugfest 2026 (30 September – 1 October 2026) and ran interoperability tests with the devices below. A Plugfest is where manufacturers connect their EEBUS implementations to each other and test them use case by use case.

Tested is not certified. The list says which combinations were tested, not that every test passed: results ranged from passed to partly passed and failed, mostly on the counterpart's side. OptiBee Energy Pro does not hold an EEBUS certificate.

Two roles

  • As the energy manager — towards smart meter gateways (SMGW) and control boxes (CU): OptiBee receives the grid operator's limit and distributes it over the devices it manages.
  • As the controller — towards heat pumps and charging stations: OptiBee sends the limit to the device.

Use cases

Use caseWhat it does
LPCLimitation of power consumption — the limit under §14a EnWG
LPPLimitation of power production — the feed-in limit under §9 EEG
MPCMonitoring of the power a device consumes
MGCPMonitoring of the grid connection point
SPSSHIP Pairing Service — pairing for automated commissioning

The use cases certified by the EEBUS Initiative are LPC, LPP, MPC and MGCP, with automated commissioning tested in addition (pv magazine, 23 July 2026).
