Grid-side control (§14a EnWG)
What netzorientierte Steuerung asks of the installation, and where the controller sits in it.
In Germany, controllable consumer devices under §14a EnWG have to accept
netzorientierte Steuerung — the grid operator may limit the drawn power of a
heat pump, wallbox or storage system, and the installation has to follow that
instruction while keeping the guaranteed minimum available.
The controller's part is to receive the Steuerbefehl des Netzbetreibers and
distribute the remaining budget across the devices it manages, rather than each
device reacting on its own.
The wiring and registration side: how the control signal arrives at this
installation (which interface, which gateway), and what the installer files with
the grid operator. Needs the current §14a integration story from engineering,
and it is jurisdiction-specific — the Dutch equivalent (afregelopdracht under
the Netcode Elektriciteit) needs its own page.
